CARE GUIDE FOR YOUR NEW
CUSTOM MADE GARMENT
A man's dress suit is one of the most valuable additions to most men's wardrobes.
So knowing how to care for and clean a dress suit is something that all men should
be knowledgeable about.
Most Men’s Suit fabrics contain a certain percentage of wool fibers. The particular
properties of Wool Fibers are extremely beneficial for cloth making. Being an
organic fiber with a semi-spiral shape, it naturally wicks away moisture. Wool
fibers are naturally hypoallergenic, and they are resistant to dust mites, mould/
mildew and bacteria growth.
DRY CLEANING
Dry Cleaning uses a Chemical called Perchloroethylene (or Perc) to remove dirt
and oils from fabrics. This powerful chemical strips the wool fibers of their
natural oils and causes them to become brittle. Excessive exposure to Perc
cleaners will render your fabrics weak, dull and eventually unwearable.
The absolute maximum amount of dry cleaning a suit should be subjected is
3 times per year. If you wear your suit twice per week or less, your suit should
be Dry cleaned 1 time per year.
CARING FOR YOUR CUSTOM SUIT
BETWEEN DRY CLEANING VISITS
-Rotate your suits 24-48 hours
-Lightly steam wrinkles before wearing
-Use a horse hair brush to relax fibers
-Allow to hang on a wide shoulder hanger
-Keep in an enclosed space or garment bag
