EDWIN JAPAN
Since 1947 EDWIN has produced some of the best denim available in the menswear industry. Founded originally as Tsunemi Yonehachi Shop (after the brands founder), the brand began by specialising in the wholesale of discounted American military clothing. Due to the post-war economic situation, there were limited options for manufacturing in Japan. But their obsession with American denim lead EDWIN to import used (vintage) looms from the US to start producing their own fabric. By the 1960s EDWIN had position itself as one of the best denim manufacturer in the world due to its commitment to replicate the perfect pair of jeans. In the 1980's EDWIN proved itself again by innovating the first denim "stone wash" becoming an immediate success and putting EDWIN as a leader in the industry by quality and innovation.
